Children's hospital stays set to become a little less daunting

Thanks to a generous donation from the Investec Community Donations Committee, hospital stays for children are set to become a little less daunting and much more fun.

Investec has donated 85 'Brave Gowns' for children on Frossard Ward. The gowns, which are specifically created for hospital use, feature a range of designs including superheroes, unicorns, dinosaurs, and rainbows.

Carolyn Le Cocq, Frossard Ward Paediatric Clinic Lead said:

'The team on Frossard Ward are delighted to receive this generous donation from Investec.  Children who come to the ward as in patients, or as day patients, for treatment often find it a daunting place to be.

These gowns will make their treatment a little less daunting and a lot more fun whilst meeting all our needs in terms of infection control and access for IVs, chest ports, heart monitors etc.'

Amy Le Prevost, Banking Operations and a Committee Member, said:

'The desire to make a meaningful contribution to the community we live in is at the heart of Investec's values. The Investec Community Donations Committee was set up to do just that, with the intention to live in society, and not off it.

When we found out about Brave Gowns, the whole committee felt very passionately that we would love to be able to donate a variety of designs and sizes to the Frossard Ward.  We are hoping that they will bring an element of fun to what can be a very difficult time and put a smile on these brave children's faces.  We are thrilled that we have been able to make this donation and are excited to see the difference they make to the young people using them.'

The Investec Community Donations Committee is funded through contributions from Investec Bank (Channel Islands) Limited, Investec Wealth & Investment (Channel Islands) Limited and Investec Asset Finance (Channel Islands) Limited as well as annual donations from staff members.
