The Brick Bailiwick Challenge

Thursday 19 May 2022

Whether it's a beach kiosk, a little green hut or a medieval castle, Guernsey Museums are inviting the public to recreate an iconic local building in LEGO bricks.

The Brick Bailiwick Challenge is open to people of all ages and is inspired by the temporary exhibition of Brick City at Guernsey Museum at Candie.

Participants can apply by emailing a photograph of their model to museums@gov.gg before the deadline of midnight on 31 May.

There is even a chance that some models could be on display inside the Museum, as Head of Heritage Services Helen Glencross explains:  'it's really exciting to see what Bailiwick models will be made by children or adults and, as we have a showcase available in a few weeks' time, we would love to display some of them here at the Museum'.

This initiative is organised in partnership with Island Families.  It is open to everyone living in the Bailiwick and there are prizes to be won.  There is no specified size limit, but some models may have to displayed as photographs if they are too large.

Models and photos should be of your own making. Photos submitted may be used by Guernsey Museum & partners for publicity, broadcast or published by local media, printed and online.

For public enquiries about the challenge, please email the team on museums@gov.gg or call 226518.
