Beau Sejour Pools to close for maintenance this summer

Tuesday 28 June 2022

Both pools at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre will be closed to the public from Monday 18th July until Sunday 14th August 2022, re-opening for use on Monday 15 August.

Both pools at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre will be closed to the public from Monday 18th July until Sunday 14th August 2022, re-opening for use on Monday 15 August. This is due to scheduled maintenance programmed to take place when the facility is historically at its quietest.

Ahead of the 2023 Natwest Island Games, the current pool surround is being replaced with a brand new surface to benefit all swimmers. Other remedial work is also being carried out during this time, including a deep clean and the replacement of a few cracked window panes. This will ensure the pools look their best to customers when they re-open in August as well as to the hundreds of competitors, officials and spectators who will be paying them a visit next year as part of the Island Games.

Sam Herridge, Head of Recreation Services said "Unfortunately, due to ongoing operational staffing challenges this summer, we are unable to provide an alternative indoor swimming facility on this occasion. However, customers can be reassured we have scheduled this closure during the summer months when historically footfall to our pools is at its lowest. As a result, we hope this closure will impact as few customers as possible.  Instead, we encourage customers if they are able to, to perhaps enjoy a sea swim at the many beautiful beaches that Guernsey has to offer".
