Guernsey's Environment Department has approved a brief for the development of the former GT Cars site.
The former GT Cars site on Les Bas Courtils has lain largely unused for nearly twenty years. The brief sets out the planning and urban design principles proposed by the Department to bring the site forward for redevelopment.
Speaking about the brief, Environment Minister, Deputy Peter Sirett said:
"The ground conditions are complicated and may limit the nature of possible development; but working with the site owners we are confident that this unused, unattractive area can be developed to make a positive contribution to Guernsey's environment and economy."
The Board received 22 responses to the draft brief published earlier this year. There were some specific concerns on access and reservations on the nature of potential future development, but general support overall for the redevelopment of the site.
The Board have now reviewed and revised the Development Brief in light of responses received from the public and the final Development Brief can be viewed at www.gov.gg.
