Wednesday 30 June 2021
Travellers who have arrived in the Bailiwick since Friday 18 June 2021 and those still due to travel up to and including Wednesday 30 June 2021 from within the Common Travel Area (this includes Guernsey, the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Jersey and the Isle of Man) can request that they are released early from mandatory self-isolation provided they are fully vaccinated and can provide official proof of vaccination.
Anyone who is fully vaccinated (two doses of an approved vaccine, plus two weeks since their second dose), will be eligible for a Variation to Mandatory Self-Isolation, and will be able to be released from self-isolation from Thursday 1 July, subject to the verification of their official proof of vaccination. These travellers are known as 'Blue Channel' travellers with effect from 1 July 2021.
To be eligible for early release from isolation individual must have the official proof of vaccination from the relevant Common Travel Area (CTA) jurisdiction. Individuals will need to email vcc@gov.gg with the title 'Early release from mandatory isolation' providing the following details:
- For Bailiwick Residents - the 13-digit Unique Reference number (found on the COVID Status Certificate, or a scanned copy of their Guernsey-issued certificate, along with their full contact details (name, DOB, address, telephone number(s) and email address).
- For non-Bailiwick Residents - a photograph, screenshots or a scanned copy of their official proof of vaccination documentation, along with their full contact details (name, DOB, address, telephone number(s) and email address).
Only official documentation will be accepted as proof of vaccination (i.e. appointment cards, GP letters etc. will not be accepted). In addition, at the current time, only documents issues WITHIN the CTA will be accepted.
If individuals cannot provide suitable proof of vaccination, they will need to complete their self-isolation period.
For those travelling with children aged 12 to 17 years, who received a negative COVID-19 test on arrival, they will also be released from self-isolation but will have a test on day 7. No additional testing is required for children under the age of 12.
Once the email has been received, and the documentation checked, a member of the Vaccination Contact team will be in touch by phone or email to confirm whether it has been possible to release the individual from self-isolation.
