Every five years Housing organises a Housing Needs Survey. These surveys look at Guernsey's existing and future needs for different types of housing and services.
The 2011 Housing Need Study was comprehensive in considering the different components of housing requirements and supply. In addition to households identified as currently being in housing need, the study identified the future housing requirements of established and newly forming households within the Island together with inward migrants from the UK and elsewhere abroad. These gross housing requirements were offset against the likely supply of housing from within the existing stock to yield a net requirement for additional housing.
The results of this and earlier surveys can be downloaded from this page.
