A drop-in session for customers who need help with their online tax return is being held at Edward T Wheadon House. So far, 19,208 personal tax returns for 2022 have been submitted with 2 weeks remaining until the deadline. Of these returns, over 70% have been filed online.
The easiest way to complete a personal tax return is to register online for a MyGov account and use the Revenue Service customer portal. Fixes to common problems with online filing can be found at www.gov.gg/onlinetaxhelp.
There are several benefits to filing online:
- It is quicker for the customer, both in terms of filling in the form and in terms of receiving an assessment
- Customer information can be pre-populated each year to make the process even quicker
- Filing online uses fewer resources and has less impact on the environment
- Paper returns are manually inputted by Revenue Service staff into the same system used by the online filing portal, which slows down the rate at which returns can be processed for all customers
A drop-in session, where customers will receive assistance with filing online, is being held on Friday 16th February at Edward T Wheadon House. This will take place at the customer counter on level 3 between 8:45am and 4pm. Customers are encouraged to bring their personal devices (mobile phones, tablets, or laptops) with them.
Where online filing is not possible, paper returns are available from Edward T Wheadon House and Sir Charles Frossard House.
The 2023 return will be available for online filing from the beginning of March 2024
