On this page you can request a new coding notice or update your existing one.
If you have only one source of income that is taxed at source by your employer (where the tax is automatically taken out of your wages) and you have no other income source, additional allowances or deductions other than the personal allowance, then you do not need to request a coding notice. Your employer will be contacted directly by us to tell them how much tax to take from your wages.
However, if you need to make changes to an existing coding notice, or have not received one where you think you should, please fill in the form below.
You will need:
- Your tax reference number (you will find this info on your coding notice, registration document or assessment)
- Your employer or pension provider's details
We aim to process your request within 10 working days.
