Thanks to generous donations from the John Ramplin Trust, the Lord's Taverners and an anonymous donor, children will be able to enjoy a brand-new garden at the Kindred Centre in the Genats Estate.
The garden has been specifically designed to include a wet play area, a place to grow vegetables, a quiet space to feed birds and a number of sensory plants.
Kay Lindsay, Manager, Kindred Children's Centre said:
'The original garden was set up 20 years ago when the Centre was developed on the Genats Estate. Some of the original equipment was no longer suitable for use.
We are delighted that the children now have a fantastic, fit for purpose, garden to play in. We have deliberately included more natural opportunities for play to encourage the children's natural curiosity rather than the usual climbing frames etc.
We would like to thank the John Ramplin Trust, the Lord's Taverners and the anonymous donor for their generosity which has enabled the children to have such a useful and educational space.'
