In many cases, it is better for a person's long-term health to be in work. The Supporting Occupational Health & Wellbeing team (SOHWELL) offer early intervention and support, where appropriate, to people who have an illness, injury or disability to help them stay in work or get back to work more quickly.
This may be by:
- Offering 1:2:1 support
- Discussing workplace adjustments
- Facilitating gradual return to work
- Signposting to other services
- Facilitate therapeutic or voluntary placements
- Accommodating work trials
The team can also offer advice and support to employers who are looking to support their employees to return to the workplace.
If you have submitted a medical certificate and are due to be off work for four weeks or more, the SOHWELL team will make contact with you to see if there is anything that they can do to assist you in your recovery.
