The Election 2020 team has processed around 8,000 Household Registration forms since the new Electoral Roll opened in December last year.
With most forms including more than one household member, and with online registrations now at 7,000, this means the total number of people now formally registered on the Electoral Roll is more than 22,000. The Election Team is keen to receive more forms, though, and is urging anyone who has not yet registered to do so as soon as possible.
Lead Election Officer David Mullins says:
"The Election 2020 team has been working really hard to input all these returned Household Registration Forms, but we'd still like more. We'd like those people who have not yet returned their forms to dig them out from the kitchen drawer, or down the side of the sofa and get them back to us as soon as they can. The roll will close on 30 April 2020 so if you want to have your say at the election, you must register by then."
The easiest way to sign up is online at www.election2020.gg where there is also the option to select a postal vote. Anyone who has lost their form, or believes they have not received one should contact the Election 2020 Office on 01481 747579 as soon as possible.
