Through The Guernsey Institute, which is the integration of three existing organisations; Guernsey College of Further Education, the GTA University Centre and the Institute of Health & Social Care Studies, we are committed to providing all islanders with learning opportunities throughout their lives as we believe that lifelong learning is the key to maintaining the prosperity and well-being of our community.

The Guernsey Institute plays a key role in providing those opportunities but equally, private organisations such as the Open University and Worker's Educational Association make a significant contribution.

Although Guernsey is a small island with a population catchment area that is the equivalent of a small to medium sized town in the United Kingdom, the island is well-served by Adult Learning opportunities.

  • The Guernsey College of Further Education

    • The College of Further Education provides courses that are attended by 7000+ islanders every year. These  include:
      • Vocational and business education provision
      • Adult Education courses
  • The Guernsey Adult Literacy Project

    • The College of Further Education works closely with this charity,  The Guernsey Adult Literacy Project, which was established to provide adults with opportunities to develop literacy skills.
  • The GTA University Centre

    • The GTA University Centre works with providers of higher education and advanced training to deliver a wide range of courses at its teaching centre in the heart of St Peter Port. Its primary focus is:
      • Compliance; Commercial Management and skills training ;Information technology and e-business; Postgraduate and professional programmes; Specialist conferences and seminars
  • Institute of Health and Social Care Studies
