The States of Guernsey alongside the Town Centre Partnership would like to hear how the Christmas parking arrangements impacted businesses in St Peter Port.
Temporary Christmas parking measures were requested by the Town Centre Partnership (TCP) and approved by the Committee for the Environment & Infrastructure with support from the Committee for Economic Development. The TCP made this request to enable people to spend longer enjoying the shops and services in St Peter Port over the festive period.
From Thursday 30th November 2017 to Thursday 4th January 2018, the following arrangements applied:
- On weekdays, the 2 hour disc parking zones at the Albert Pier, Crown Pier and North Beach car parks were extended to 3 hours.
- On Saturdays and late night shopping evenings, all parking restrictions were suspended at these zones and at the existing 3 hour spaces on North Beach.
More details on these arrangements, and the additional parking which was made available to the public in other areas of Town, are available in the media release which can be found in the 'useful links' section at the bottom of this page.
Businesses based in Town are now invited to provide their feedback on any ways in which the temporary parking arrangements impacted their business. Whilst the temporary arrangements were made with the retail and hospitality sectors in mind, Town-based businesses from any sector are encouraged to respond to enable an assessment of the overall impact of the parking arrangements on the Town economy.
Businesses based in St Peter Port can give their feedback by going to www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/xmasparkingimpact and completing the online survey. The responses will be used to inform the approach to Town parking arrangements for Christmas 2018
The survey for this consultation has now closed.
This information is being collected by the States of Guernsey in association with the Town Centre Partnership, all responses will be kept anonymous. Should you require any further information please contact Emma Brown at 743800 or email Emma.Brown@gov.gg
